Terms of Service

1. The Service

ConvertHubcom provides file conversion and PDF editing tools that run in your browser. They're free to use without an account. We don't sell any paid plans yet; if we introduce them, we'll add their terms here before anyone can buy one.

2. Your files and content

You retain all rights to the files you convert or edit. ConvertHubcom does not claim any ownership over your content, and — per our Privacy Policy — never receives a copy of it in the first place, aside from the single disclosed exception (a DOI lookup for PDF citation extraction).

You're responsible for having the right to convert, edit, or sign any file you process with the Service, and for complying with applicable law regarding its contents.

3. Accounts

You're responsible for maintaining access to the email address used to sign in, since sign-in is passwordless. Notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

4. Paid plans

Nothing on ConvertHubcom is for sale yet, so we won't charge you anything. If we introduce paid plans, we'll publish their prices and their renewal, cancellation and refund terms here before they go on sale.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Process files you don't have the legal right to handle;
• Attempt to bypass, disable, or reverse-engineer the Service's security or licensing;
• Use the Service to build a directly competing product from its source;
• Interfere with the Service's infrastructure or other users' access to it.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the open-source licences of components we ship; see our open-source notices.

6. The browser extension

The extension is provided under these same terms. Uninstalling it at any time removes its access; it requests only the permissions described on its listing and in the Privacy Policy.

7. Service availability

The Service is provided “as is.” Because processing happens in your own browser, most tools keep working if your connection drops after the tool has loaded in an open tab, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability of the website, account services, or the conversion-engine downloads.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ConvertHubcom is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data processed through the tools. Because files are processed locally and never held by us, we strongly recommend keeping your own backups before performing a destructive operation (e.g. overwriting a file).

9. Changes to the Service or these terms

We may update these terms or the Service over time. Material changes to these terms will be reflected by the date above and, for signed-in users, flagged at next sign-in.

10. Refunds

Nothing is for sale yet, so there's nothing to refund. See our Refund Policy.

11. Who runs ConvertHubcom

ConvertHubcom is run by one private individual as a non-commercial project (it isn't a registered company, nothing is for sale, and accounts are invite-only). In these terms, “we”, “us”, and “ConvertHubcom” mean that individual. Contact: info@converthubcom.com.
